I've been an avid insulator collector for the past year. Most of my
collecting is done along railroad grades, but I sometimes collect along
telephone and power lines. As everyone knows, its hard to pick a most favorite
or best insulator, so I've tried to no avail in deciding on either a CD 151 in
blueish aqua, CD 152 green Hemingray-40's, or CD 154 cornflower blue
McLaughlin's. Even though you can buy and trade for very nice pieces, I feel the
best ones are self collected. Speaking of self collection, its interesting to
note that most of mine have been located in the dirt next to the pile, not on
it! It just goes to show that the best aren't always in the air. Aside from
insulator collecting, I enjoy building and flying model airplanes, model trains,
bottle digging, rock collecting, and writing. I'm fourteen & in the eighth
grade.
