Telephone Signs Of Western Canada
by Morgan Davis

Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", February 1989, page 9

The western provinces of Canada, having established early Government telephone services, are quite diverse in logos and colors insofar as telephone signs go. After visiting with Bill Lovely of Regina, I was dazzled by the variety compared to the typical blue and white motifs of Ontario. Thanks for the help with the photos, Bill!

I had never seen one of these before.
Grey buffalo, red maple leaf with blue border!

Saskatchewan Government Telephones.
Gold wheat sheaves on green, red lion, green lettering.

Alberta Government Telephones
A really great logo. Blue & white
Introduced in the early 20's

1944 AGT sign
Brown and gold, with red cross

AGT sign in blue and white

Province is unknown on this blue and white sign

Two miscellaneous blue and white telephone pay station signs.
