Edwin C. Lewis - Electrical Supplies

Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", May 1987, page 20

Dennis Weber of St. Joseph, Missouri, sent copies of some of the pages from "EDWIN C. LEWIS ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES," printed shortly after 1908. Included in the catalogue were several pages of porcelain insulators, mainly manufactured by Thomas. I think that you will agree with Dennis that the quality of glass insulators available from this supply house were exceptional. "I've never seen a better variety of rare glass in one catalogue before -- COMBINATION SAFETY, THE CROWN, GLASS BLOCKS, BROOKFIELD O'BRIEN PATENT, JUMBOS, LOCKE NO. 25 -- along with an array of other styles."
