Mid-Willamette Valley Insulator Swap

Nathan Lamkey hosted his 9th annual swap meet at his home in Salem, Oregon March 25th. Now a lot of collectors have "go withs" for their insulators collections, and Nathan is no exception. But some of his are rather large. Shown here is a railroad semaphore Nathan has restored and erected along his driveway, signaling to all that they've found the correct address. This particular signal is off a section of tracks formerly operated by Southern Pacific Railroad in Southern Oregon.

But just in care you still aren't sure you've arrived at the correct address, Nathan has plenty of historic telephone and telegraph poles on display around his farm to erase any lingering doubts. The pole below is adorned with a six pin crossarm bearing a half-dozen CD 152 California's in amethyst.

Some three dozen collectors from several states attended Nathan's swap meet this year. More pictures can be seen below.
