The Porcelain Corner

Reprinted from "INSULATORS - Crown Jewels of the Wire", May 1972, page 12

Dear Folks:

Am sending you photos of 2 insulators I acquired recently, may use them if you care to. The "Bennington Threadless" is extremely rare. (Two views shown below.)

I have seen and heard of several of the rare porcelains, but I have never seen or heard of this one. (Picture below.) Perhaps it is the rarest? I got this data with it-- Circa 1847 has been in a N/E collection wince 1917. Any information on these 2 will be greatly appreciated.

Threadless? Cemented in. Iron rusty. Curved back side to fit pole. From Pa. 7" high, 9" long. Dark brown porcelain. No embossing.

Just received my "Crown Jewels", and it is very nice. I know it was a long and hard job in setting up the "Subscribers Directory". It
is a good job. Hoping to see you folks in K. City and wishing you the best.
Resp. yours,
Forrest C. Jones

Drawing by Robert Winkler

Well, here I am again. I think I have something that may be of interest to our Ceramic Friends.

I don't have the books containing the Hems items on Ceramics, but expect this will be of some value to those collectors.

Below is a sketch of a Lock - Victor - Pat June 1898. Crown embossed. Brown glaze. Transposition.

Full Scale

This is a one piece Transposition. It will display mint. I would like to hear from someone about it.

Best Wishes,
Larry Harmon
