Foreign Insulators
by Marilyn Albers

Reprinted from "INSULATORS - Crown Jewels of the Wire", September 1982, page 3

A Much Needed Map for Us Foreigners

Milholland's 1982 Price Guide has just recently become available. It lists foreign glass insulators under both old and new C.D. #'s, but in two different sections of the book! To avoid confusion, I thought this might be a good time, and
would serve a useful purpose, if I were to show you a complete cross reference list with both old C.D. #'s (as previously listed in Milholland's Most About Glass Insulators - Fourth Revision) and their corresponding new C.D. #'s. Since I have been harping so much about using the new numbers, it has occurred to me that there are still going to be some of you out there buying and selling foreign glass, that won't necessarily have either our new book on foreign glass insulators or the new price guide (See ads for both in this issue.), so the following list is offered as a help to you in the interim. This, however, is only a bare skeleton, because, besides these, Glass Insulators from Outside North America shows many, many new designs never before listed anywhere, plus embossings and countries of origin. We may be putting out supplements till the year 2000, because foreigns could go on forever! Maybe we sort of opened a can of worms, but that's okay! We're having a good time at it, and we're all learning something!

*Starred items indicate those located and reassigned since the book "Glass Insulators from Outside North America" was published in August, 1981. Book owners please take note: You may wish to photo copy this page from Crown Jewels and add it to the back of your book; or if you will send me a SASE, I will mail you a typed sheet of the new items, which includes the embossings and countries of origin.

Examples of the following old C.D.'s are still needed for drawings and reassignment. Can you help me locate them?

The following drawings show you familiar designs with their new C.D. #'s and are included here only as examples, because sometimes pictures are worth 10,000 words!
