Fred Griffin
President, 512 South Palm Ave., Palatka, Florida 32077

Reprinted from "INSULATORS - Crown Jewels of the Wire", September 1973, page 11

INTRODUCING YOUR NATIONAL INSULATOR ASSOCIATION OFFICIALS

Fred has practiced dentistry in Palatka for the past ten years and started collecting insulators in the fall of '68 on a small scale. He is married and has five sons and one daughter. One of his boys dug up an insulator on a bottle digging expedition, and thus the insulator bug bit him.

About a year or so ago Fred narrowed the collection down to threadless primarily - with an interest in Boston Bottles and a few other captivating types - amber Brookfields, colored Hemingrays and E. C. & M.'s in color. But threadless insulators are the most fascinating to him, and he is now looking high and low for a "sleeve" insulator.

Fred has been to all the Nationals, except the first one, and is a member of the Jacksonville Bottle Club and the M-T Bottle Club of DeLand, Florida. He also has a part interest in an antique shop in Daytona Beach, but states this is more of a hobby than a business. It covers anything old or historical and interesting. Fred was an old car buff until he got on to insulators, but has enjoyed this insulator hobby much, much more.

Good luck to you, Fred, in your new job as President of N.I.A.
