These two, slightly different shaped, threadless hooks in porcelain are
reported to be "one of a kinds". Both were found in Eastern Canada.
There is some speculation they are related to the overland portion of the
Trans-Atlantic Cable, the famous undersea telegraph line that connected Europe
and America in the mid-1860's.
These two insulators, along with the pony on the inside of the front cover,
and the thread maker shown on page 39, were taken to the national show by their
owner, James Doty.
