Chiloquin is a small mountain community nestled in the pines not far from
Crater Lake National Park in Southern Oregon. It's also the site for an
insulator swap meet every September at the home of Mid Norris.
The Jefferson
State Insulator Club sponsors the meet as one of several backyard swaps held
periodically at members homes in Oregon and California.
Although a small event
(about 20 collectors and spouses this year), the Chiloquin swap is known for its
great weather, beautiful scenery, casual atmosphere, fantastic barbecue, and
decent selection of insulators for sale or trade.
Host Mid Norris (see address side of this issue) collects both glass and
porcelain insulators, but is an avid fan of "mud". He uses the
nickname "mudhen" in his email address.

Bill Ostrander of Merlin, OR, Carl Scott of Crescent City, CA, Tim
Wood of Albany, OR
and Scott Morrell of Medford, OR dig into a box of newly
arrived insulators.

Ernie Carlson of Rhododendron, OR and Stan Severi of Brookings, OR
swap insulator talk.

Gateways become works of insulator art on the Mid Norris Ranch

Barb & Paul Cherry of Yreka, California enjoy the sights in Mid's
insulator garage. Not just insulators... but hardware, tools, porcelain
signs,
and other insulator related items line the walls and shelves.
