1. An insulator comprising a body having its upper end reduced and provided with a transversely extending opening and further having an inverted L-shaped recess terminating in one end of said opening, said upper portion of said body further provided with a wire support intersecting said transverse opening, a hook shaped clamping member having its shank extending through said opening and the free terminus of the hook projecting in said recess, the hook of said member intersecting said support and receiving the wire mounted therein, and means mounted upon one end of said member and engaging the upper portion of said body for maintaining the clamping member in position thereby securing the wire to the reduced upper portion of said body.

2.
