Advertising Through the Ages

A sampling of four foreign porcelain advertisements comes from various issues
of Revue Generale de l'Electricite Bulletin.
PHT advertised their high tension porcelain insulators in the January
3, 1931 issue.
The SECN ad appeared in December 23, 1939.
The
January 22, 1921 issue contained the Comptoir Technique Parisien ad.
The fancy border of electrical tubing made the February 18, 1922
ad a real
eye-catcher for the Efgé Company of Paris.
PARVILLEE FRERES & CO.
This is some sort of circular. I found this folded up in a French trade
journal from 1903. It's actual size is about 19" x 14" and it's
printed on tissue paper. It shows a rather complete line of porcelain insulators
that they offered in 1903. A few of them are similar to Fred Locke insulators in
that they have porcelain pin bases and a few of them have a distinctive mushroom
shape. Their No. 192 (second from left on bottom row) looks just like a U-925.
According to the circular, one should consult their catalog for other models
made of glass. This trademark has been found on glass insulators and was unattributed before this and a few other
ads were found. You can find a few more
ads and information on foreign glass insulators by P.F.C. in Marilyn Albers'
book, Glass Insulators From Outside North America, 2nd Revision.
