Insulator of the Month

An Original

Terry Drollinger sent in this picture of a yellow California CD 260 resting on a basalt cliff high above the Columbia River in Washington.

Terry fell in love with this paint splattered California because... well, because it is covered in paint. You see, there's always been controversy about ...                    [more]

Lineman's Vantage Point

Retired lineman Bob Jackson says the pictures of these large porcelain multipart insulators were taken just before they were changed out for modern insulators. Bob described the location as being near Knight's Landing in California. Found on the line a wide variety of multi's...including M-4325's, ...                    [more]

Treasures Can Still Be Found

   By Jim Harlow

While going through a small local antique show on the Prescott Courthouse Square in my home state of Arizona, I found this McLaughlin made Reamer. In Fred Padgett's book, "Dreams of Glass", on page 170 you read that this was the "PURE GOLD" mold that Williams McLaughlin changed to read "RE ...                    [more]

New Variety From Mexico

Bill Ostrander is the proud owner of this pony in depression glass green. He says that Dale and Art Huber found a dozen or so of them in Mexico.

The insulator is unlisted, both in color and embossing. It's a CD 106.4 embossed with a logo of an intertwined "M" and "V". A same ...                    [more]

Letters to Editor

Dear Friends,

I sat at my typewriter for an hour trying to think of a way to start this letter. It hurt so badly that no words would come to me. So, I'll just start out by saying that the hobby and I have lost a dear friend. Bruce Young passed away at home in Lake Havasu City, AZ on November 29th, of lung cancer. I last saw ...                    [more]

FRENCH MADE INSULATORS FOR EXPORT ISOREX

In recent years we have acquired numerous glass insulators from Argentina made by ISOREX. There are three different models most in the dark green black glass that Verreries Charbonneaux (ISOREX) was known for. They are #233, #234 ...                    [more]
