One insulator that is rather interesting when it comes to Canadian porcelain
insulators, is the large beehive with the metal cap on top. These don't show up
very often and they come in an unmarked very dark brown glaze and a

The Buzz
Butch Haltman says the CD 141.8 Buzby (left) and the Buzby prototype (right) are his favorite insulators. Buzby insulators are exceedingly rare themselves; but there is only one prototype. Did it accompany the patent application, which was granted on May 6, 1890? While that's not known, the prototype is obviously a forerunner to the final product. This was one of a number of "no tie" insulators patented at the end of the 19th Century.
