"Threadless Corner Update"

As stated in the October "Threadless Corner", while in Denver I was
able to photograph two Wade type threadless which were no included in the
August and October 1978 issues of Crown Jewels, which covered the Wade type
insulators. Both are shown below. Fig. 17 shows a medium lime green unit, with
bubbles. The top of the insulator has a slightly recessed area about the size
of a quarter. (I might add that the CD 724.5 also has this same indentation,
suggesting the same manufacturer for both.) The bottom of the insulator,
rather that being flat, tapers downward from the outside edge to a point where
the pinhole starts. Fig. 18 shows a "dot-dash" Wade which is a very
unusual near clear color, full of tiny bubbles. This is the only Wade-type
insulator I've seen in this color -- it sure is a beauty. Thanks to Paul
Plunkett
for allowing me to photograph it.
