Winter 2007
Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", April 2007, page 38
Lots of folks would prefer to forget the winter of '07. Record snowfall,
unusual snowfall, frequent snowfall. Here are some wintry scenes readers sent in.
The "welcome pole" greets winter at Bob & Arlene Jackson's
home in Lenore, ID.
Bernie Warren described this as "just an overnight dusting"
in Anchorage, AK.
A multi-part owned by Bill Ostrander sports a snowy cap
in an
infrequent Southern Oregon snowfall.
Crown Jewels is always looking for interesting pictures. If you take one this
spring or summer, send it in. Who knows, it may end up on a cover.

Jutting out of a rare snowfall here in Merlin, OR is granddad's old
wheelbarrow wheel, modified into an insulator display. Remember seeing it
before? If you do, consider yourself an avid reader of Crown Jewels. It was
pictured in the April, 1970 issue. Below is a picture Ernie Carlson took a year
ago of California insulators highlighted against a snowfall in Rhododendron, OR.
