Important Message From Your "Foreign Insulators" Editor
Reprinted from "INSULATORS - Crown Jewels of the Wire", July 1982, page 17
This concerns
everyone listing foreign glass insulators for sale or trade, and I'm asking for
your cooperation. As of August '81 all previously listed C.D. #'s for foreign
glass (excluding Canada and Mexico) were changed! Since then many new foreign
designs have been found, and these have now been assigned C.D. #'s. All of these
new numbers have been officially approved and adopted by the N.I.A. and will be
listed as such in the new price guide by Paul Keating. The old numbers are no
longer being used, except temporarily, and only as a cross reference. This is
for real! This was a group effort, and we're moving ahead It is disappointing
to see ads for foreign glass still using only the old numbers. Please learn the
new C.D.'s and use them!
Foreign glass insulators now occupy essentially the
block of numbers from 400 through 600. This was done to create better order in
the C.D. numbering system. For a very small sum you can order the new book (see
classified ads) listing all of these, with their corresponding "old"
numbers. Embossings are included, as well as countries of origin.
Until we are
all used to the new numbers, may I suggest this way of listing:
