Insulator of the Month - TIME WILL TELL
Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", October 2004, inside front cover
This CD 134 is Larry McClain's favorite insulator. He says it was removed
from a house in Colorado Springs, CO in 1981. But, because it was covered in
three or four layers of paint, no one had a clue what a fantastic color lay
hidden within. Finally, in 1993 Larry took a knife and began scraping off those
layers of paint. The color is a fabulous yellow olive green. The insulator is
embossed "AM INS (backwards N) Co. (glass dot) PAT'D SEPT. 13,'81". While
it has always been a Crown Jewel, it just took time to tell.
