Ryan Smith and his dad, Kyle, of Snyder, Texas are fairly new to the insulator hobby. They are working hard
and having some fun putting an insulator exhibit together for the Scurry
County Museum. It will be shown in September and October. "We enjoy the
hunting, classifying, and the history of glass insulators and hope that many
area residents will recognize the places in the pictures that we have in the
exhibit. Many of the insulators we will use for the exhibit are ones that we
found in west Texas. There are still quite a few lines up that went out to the
oil fields."
To make the display even more interesting they have purchased
some special insulators. They will be showing us pictures of their exhibit in an
upcoming issue. Ryan received a lighted glass display case for his 12th
birthday. His favorite insulators are CD 102's and is dreaming of someday owning
one in midnight blue.
This set of lines in Southern Scurry County mainly contains Hemingray 42's
and 19's. We have spotted some CD 151's too. Look what we see in the trees.

correctly it will grow up through anything.
