The 31st Annual Perkiomenville, PA Insulator show
Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", October 2004, page 10
By the time you read this, this show will be past and the National will also
be history, although more recently. The day broke with some fog but by eight o'clock most of it had burned off and it was a great insulator show day. The first
dealer arrived before seven o'clock and there was a steady stream of dealers
coming in, unloading and getting set up. By nine o'clock there were
about twenty-four tables set up. We had dealers from Florida, Delaware,
Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

We also had two first time
dealers this year as well as some new collectors attending their first show. The
walk through attendance was not as good as other years and it probably was due
to the National being six weeks away. A lot of people said "see you at the
National". One of the hard to find CD 185.2 B.E.L. Co. insulators showed up
in LIGHT AQUA. A dealer from New Jersey was reducing the size of his collection
and had some very nice insulators for sale, such as a CD 143 Montreal Telegraph
Co. in a very deep blue and a CD 145 H.G. Co. in light green loaded with milky
swirls.

By noontime everyone was hungry and the fireplace was lit up. Hamburgers and
hotdogs started smelling very good. The afternoon passed all too quickly with
more buying, selling, and trading. Then it was time to pack it up for this year.
