QUESTIONS ANSWERED BY N. R. WOODWARD
I have a question about an insulator I found this summer. To be more specific
the description follows:
- No drip points,
- mold line does not extend over dome,
- inner skirt,
- green,
- aqua,
- resembles Tibbitts Ref. Vol. 1 #23,
- front of skirt -
Brookfield 11,
- back of skirt - No. 48 .
The only question I have is, what is the
collectors value, and are they quite common as a more recent example of
Brookfield'?

In reply to Jon E. Higgins.
Your Brookfield No. 48 (Mold #11) is from their very latest production. Mold
and style numbers were not added to the Brookfield communication insulators
until shortly before they went out of business. The exact date is not known.
Since there are tens of thousands of insulators of the style of Brookfield
No. 48 still on the lines, this particular item will no doubt be showing up from
time to time. (They are almost impossible to distinguish from those that are not
numbered while on the poles.) However, at the present time, any of the
Brookfield communication styles with style numbers and lot numbers can be
considered as being quite scarce.
