Letters to the Editor

Dear Dora,
I am a fan of the Hartford Electric Lighting
Company's pole. Since I like drawing and you want pictures for the magazine, I
drew you two sketches of H.E.LT. Co. poles in Thomaston, Connecticut (Perhaps
you've heard of Seth Thomas clocks.). The typical prototype of this company is
twelve foot crossarms on older poles, and a high ten foot crossarm with a
"dropped" polepin in the center. The unusual secondary spool I've
seen used on primary by CL&P here in Naugatuck. The wide-skirted
porcelain primaries are standard also.
I have a fifteen foot prototype pole in
my backyard plus genuine H.E.LT.Co plates on it.
Sincerely yours,
Steven Jones
