At the April 2nd meeting of the Insulator Collectors Club, San Diego County,
Dick Alumbaugh of Anaheim was the guest speaker, who unfolded the following
story.
The idea of a porcelain commemorative came to Dick while in the hospital in

I read your news in Crown Jewels and really enjoy it.
I have an insulator (one of three) which was dug up recently in an old dump.
It is blue green, with no threads. The center is open all the way thru, and it
has raised patent letters.

Greens, blues, yellows, purples, ambers: the colors of the rainbow and the
colors of insulators. Insulators are very pretty, and they are found in a wide
variety of these rainbow colors. However, insulators were not made in this wide
range of colors to impress future collectors, although it may seem this way.
